Cheesy Baked Onions

Ingredients:

  • 4 large onions, peeled and sliced into thick rings
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Onions: Arrange the onion slices in a single layer on a baking sheet or in a baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.
  3. Add Cream and Cheese: Pour the heavy cream over the onions, making sure they are evenly coated. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top. If using, add dried thyme and garlic powder for extra flavor.
  4. Bake: Place the baking sheet or dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the onions are tender and the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  5. Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm as a side dish.
