Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups crushed graham crackers
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons shortening

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Peanut Butter Mixture:
    • In a large bowl, mix the peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
    • Stir in the crushed graham crackers until well combined.
  2. Form the Balls:
    • Scoop out small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls using your hands. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Chill the balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or until firm.
  3. Coat with Chocolate:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and shortening in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted.
    • Using a fork or a toothpick, dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing the ball back on the parchment paper.
  4. Set the Chocolate:
    • Sprinkle a small amount of crushed graham crackers on top of each chocolate-coated ball for garnish.
    • Allow the chocolate to set by chilling the balls in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
  5. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Once the chocolate is fully set, transfer the chocolate peanut butter balls to a serving plate and enjoy!
