Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups crushed graham crackers
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons shortening
Instructions
- Prepare the Peanut Butter Mixture:
- In a large bowl, mix the peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Stir in the crushed graham crackers until well combined.
- Form the Balls:
- Scoop out small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls using your hands. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Chill the balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or until firm.
- Coat with Chocolate:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and shortening in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted.
- Using a fork or a toothpick, dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing the ball back on the parchment paper.
- Set the Chocolate:
- Sprinkle a small amount of crushed graham crackers on top of each chocolate-coated ball for garnish.
- Allow the chocolate to set by chilling the balls in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Once the chocolate is fully set, transfer the chocolate peanut butter balls to a serving plate and enjoy!
