Ingredients:

  • 1 small whole chicken (1.5–2 kg), cleaned and patted dry
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (sweet or smoked)
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for a festive touch)
  • ½ cup natural orange juice
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Marinade:
In a bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, paprika, cinnamon (if using), orange zest, and orange juice. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Marinate the Chicken:
Spread the marinade generously over the chicken, including under the skin for added flavor. Marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight.
  3. Preheat the Airfryer:
Set the Airfryer to 180°C (350°F) and let it preheat for 5 minutes.
  4. Cook the Chicken:
Place the chicken breast-side down in the Airfryer basket. Cook for 35 minutes. Flip the chicken and cook for another 25–30 minutes, or until the skin is golden and the internal temperature reaches 74°C (165°F).
  5. Rest the Chicken:
Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving to ensure the juices redistribute.

Bonus Tip:
Garnish with fresh rosemary, orange slices, and festive berries like blueberries for a picture-perfect Christmas table presentation.
