This easy-to-make, irresistible Farmhouse Pecan Buttermilk Cake is bursting with old school flavor. Buttermilk continues it splendid moist, and brown sugar provides a contact of richness. The pecan topping is the best candy touch, however the cake itself is not-too-sweet, growing a pleasant balance. Enjoy it whenever – holidays, parties, brunches – you won’t be disappointed!

Ingredients

  • half of cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 2 cups mild brown sugar, packed
  • 2 massive eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 cups buttermilk, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour (I use King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour)

Pecan Topping (Please notice -the topping is delivered after the cake is baked, then location the BACK IN OVEN to bake an additional 10 minutes)

  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup mild brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup milk (I use complete milk)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 to 1 cup diced pecans (I use 1 cup)

FARMHOUSE PECAN BUTTERMILK CAKE

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 tiers F. Lightly spray/grease a 9×13 baking pan.
  • In a massive mixing bowl, add butter and brown sugar and beat till smooth.
  • Next, add the eggs and beat till smooth, and then stir in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.
  • Now add the flour, baking soda and salt – beating till absolutely blended with the moist ingredients.
  • Pour the cake batter in the greased baking pan.
  • Bake on the center rack of the oven for 30–35 minute. Bake till the cake starts offevolved to flip golden – take a look at the core of the cake with a toothpick to make positive it comes out clean.

WHILE THE FARMHOUSE PECAN BUTTER CAKE IS BAKING, PREPARE THE PECAN TOPPING:

  • In a medium dimension bowl, add the melted butter and sugar and combine well. Next, add the diced pecans, milk and salt and combine well. Please note, the topping is thick.
  • Top the baked cake with the pecan topping, spooning and gently spreading it evenly, masking the complete cake. Place the cake lower back in the oven and bake for an extra 10 minutes.
  • When ready, get rid of from oven and enable to cool for a few minutes. The cake can be served heat or at room temperature.
  • Please be aware – the glaze will be ooey goey served clean out of the oven whilst it’s nevertheless warm. At room temperature, the glaze will set. The cake is terrific, served each ways.
