Tasty Italian Chicken Pasta – a delicious dinner

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Kraft Italian Zesty Dressing (or use homemade dressing)
  • 1 pound (2) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into small pieces (or use leftover shredded chicken)
  • 1 chopped yellow onion
  • 2 ( 8) cans of tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 (14.5 oz)5 oz.) can artichoke hearts, drained and coarsely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 4 oz. (1/2 8-ounce package) Philadelphia cream cheese, diced, softened
  • 2 1/2 cups raw whole-wheat pasta (or 4 cups cooked)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or basil

Instructions

In a In a Large skillet , heat Italian dressing over medium heat.Add the chicken pieces and chopped onion and cook until the chicken is browned and the onion is soft.
Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, chopped artichoke hearts, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes. Bring the mixture to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the softened cream cheese until melted and well blended.
In the meantime, cook the pasta al dente according to the package instructions.Drain and reserve.
Add the cooked pasta to the pan with the chicken and sauce mixture and toss gently until coated.
Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley or basil over the pasta before serving.
