Southern Potato Salad

I clearly love Southern cuisine. The rich, daring flavors and usual recipes surpassed down from generations make each and every dish special and soulful. One of my all-time favorites is Southern potato salad. This traditional dish is a staple at each and every household gathering in the South. The creamy mayonnaise-based dressing blended with soft potatoes and crunchy greens makes for the ideal aspect dish to accompany any predominant course. In this recipe, I’ll be sharing my family’s well-known Southern potato salad that will have you trying extra with every bite.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 lbs of russet potatoes
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise, adjusted to taste
  • ¼ component of dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • ½ cup of candy pickles
  • 1 stalk of celery, chopped
  • 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  • 4 giant eggs, hard-boiled and chopped

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Take a giant pot and fill it with water. Place the potatoes in pot and warmness till boiled. Let the potatoes cook dinner till they are without difficulty pierced with a knife.
2. Once the potatoes are totally cooked, switch them to a bowl stuffed with ice water to swiftly cool them down.
3. After the potatoes have cooled, take away the pores and skin and reduce them into giant chunks.
4. In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and sugar, mixing them together.
5. Pour the combination over the potatoes, and then add the candy pickles, celery, onion, and four chopped hard-boiled eggs.
6. Season with salt and pepper.
7. Thoroughly combine all the substances collectively till well-combined.
