The Sloppy Joe is a timeless American favorite. It’s a sandwich crammed with floor meat, generally beef, combined with a tangy tomato sauce. The origins date again to the early twentieth century, with a number of areas claiming its creation. Over time, the Sloppy Joe has evolved, with severa variants popping up throughout the country.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb lean floor chicken
- 15 oz canned corn, drained
- 1/2 cup diced pink onions
- 10.5 oz condensed cream of hen soup
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 4 massive hamburger buns
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese combination
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the Oven: Set the oven to 400°F to toast the buns.
Cook the Chicken: In a massive sauté pan over medium-high heat, cook the floor poultry till it’s crumbled and wholly cooked.
Add Veggies: Add the canned corn and diced pink onions to the pan. Continue cooking for three minutes.
Mix Seasonings: Stir in the cream of rooster soup, Cajun seasoning, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Reduce the warmness to low.
Incorporate Mayo: Mix in the mayo till properly blended with the poultry mixture.
Toast the Buns: Arrange the hamburger buns on a baking sheet in a single layer and toast them in the oven till gently browned, about 4-5 minutes.
Assemble Sandwiches: Remove the buns from the oven. Spoon the floor poultry combination onto the backside halves of the buns.
Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheese on pinnacle of the rooster mixture, then vicinity the pinnacle buns on.
Serve: Serve warm and enjoy!
