Sweet and Savory Meatballs and Sausages with Pineapple

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound frozen meatballs
  • 1 package (14 oz) cocktail sausages
  • 1 can (20 oz) pineapple chunks, drained (reserve juice)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a medium bowl, mix the barbecue sauce, sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add some of the reserved pineapple juice if you want a thinner sauce.
  2. Combine Ingredients:
    • In a slow cooker or an Instant Pot, add the frozen meatballs, cocktail sausages, and pineapple chunks.
  3. Add Sauce:
    • Pour the prepared sauce over the meatballs, sausages, and pineapple. Stir to coat everything evenly.
  4. Cooking Methods:
    • Slow Cooker: Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours.
    • Instant Pot: Seal the lid and cook on high pressure for 10 minutes. Once done, perform a quick release.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve the sweet and savory meatballs and sausages with pineapple hot, as an appetizer or over rice for a main dish.
